Marketing — Creatives and Mailings (2026-09-28)
Open a campaign and use two new tabs.
Creatives
Creatives holds the campaign's HTML: email bodies, landing pages and ad
creatives. Click Creative to write one — the editor shows the code on the
left and a live preview on the right (Code / Split / Preview), or
pick an .html file with Import HTML. Insert merge field drops a
placeholder such as {{contact.first_name}}, {{company.name}} or
{{unsubscribe_url}} at the cursor; every email body must keep the
unsubscribe link. Each Save version creates a new version and removes the
approval; Send test to me emails the current version to your own address
so you can check it in a real inbox; Approve (needs the manage marketing
permission) stamps it green — only approved bodies can be mailed. An
unknown placeholder blocks the approval and is listed under the editor.
Mailings
A mailing pairs an approved email body with an audience. Click Mailing, give it a name and a subject (placeholders work in the subject too), optionally a preheader and sender overrides, pick the body and the audience, and Add. The row shows its state and the recipient count. Then walk it through the review:
- Submit for review — checks the body, the audience and the subject.
- Approve (or Request changes) — by someone with manage marketing.
- Send now or Schedule (pick a date and time).
The send gate refuses a mailing whose campaign has not reached the launch step, whose body is not approved, whose audience matches nobody with consent, or whose workspace sending is paused — the reason appears in red under the row. Sending starts within a minute; the row then shows sent, delivered, opened, clicked, bounced and unsubscribed counts as they come in, and the campaign's Activity gets a Mailing sent entry. Preview renders the email for you before anything goes out.
Recipients who click the unsubscribe or preferences link in a mailing land on a small page that confirms the change; they are skipped by every later mailing and show Opted out in the directory.
