Hiring — bring on a team member (human or AI)

You can now run a hire as a guided process, and decide partway through whether to fill the role with a person or an AI employee.

Start a hire. In the sidebar, open Administrative → Staff and click New hire: the new-project form opens with the Hiring type already chosen — name the position and save. Your hire opens as a project that moves through clear stages: Position request → Approval → Job description → … → Onboarding → Hired.

Write the job description. At the Job description stage, use the project's notes to describe the role, and in the Hiring — Role panel choose the role being hired (e.g. Backend Developer). Then choose one of two buttons:

  • Approve — hire a human: the hire continues down the familiar path (publish the posting, triage candidates, interviews, offer, onboarding).
  • Approve — hire an AI employee: the hire jumps to a short Configure step instead.

Configure an AI employee. At the Configure stage you choose the role (only hireable roles are listed), the AI's model, and the External tools it should use — picked from a list (GitLab, Google Analytics, Canva, Meta Ads, …); each one becomes a credential to provide on the employee's page. If you have a candidate's résumé (or the JD text), click Generate to have the system suggest the role and skills for you — then adjust anything by hand. When you click Save & provision agent, the hire advances to Onboarding and a new AI team member is created automatically.

See your AI team. On Administrative → Staff, the AI agents tab lists the AI employees you've hired, with their role and status. A newly hired agent starts in a pending state until its working environment is set up.

What an AI employee cannot do. An AI employee works on your projects, tasks, companies and campaigns, but it never manages people or the workspace: it cannot create or edit users and roles, invite anyone, change teams, workflows, plans or the tenant settings, hire other AI employees, or delete anything. Those stay with you and your admins.

Tip: if a stage won't let you move forward ("the step has open tasks"), finish that stage's task first — the gate makes sure work isn't skipped.
