Attach a link as a file (and pin or favorite files)

The Files section on any record now does two new things.

Add a link, not just an upload. When you click Add File, you'll see a toggle at the top: Upload File or Add Link.

  • Leave it on Upload File to attach a document from your computer, as before.
  • Switch to Add Link to attach an external web address instead — a Google Doc, a Figma board, a shared folder, anything with a URL. Paste the link, give it a title and an optional description, and Save. It appears in the file list alongside your uploads, and clicking it opens the link.

You can edit a link later (change its address, title, or description) the same way you edit any file.

Pin and favorite files. Each file in the list now has the same two controls you already use on notes and tasks:

  • The pin (📌, amber) keeps a file at the top for everyone in your organization — handy for the document the whole team needs.
  • The heart (♥, red) marks a file as your favorite — only you see it highlighted.

Both stick after you refresh or come back later.
