15. Lawsuits

The legal module tracks legal cases.

  • List — cases with filters by status (active, closed, settled, dismissed) and priority.
  • Create (N L) — case number, parties, status, jurisdiction, priority, opened date.
  • Timeline — every action taken on the case, with timestamps and the user who performed them.
  • Documents — attached filings, contracts, court orders.

Opening a matter from a project. A lawsuit can be a child of any project — a deployment with a vendor dispute, a deal with a contract review, another lawsuit. Open the project, click the Legal tab and Open legal matter: the case form opens with the project already set as its parent, and the new matter is listed on that tab (and still under Legal → Lawsuits with everything else). A matter runs alongside the project — it never moves the project off its board.
