1. Getting started
Creating an account
There are two ways your account starts existing:
- Self-signup. Open the login page, click Register, and fill in your name, email, and password. You can also use Sign in with Google to skip the password step.
- Invitation from someone. A teammate sends you an invitation by email. Click the link in the message. The system figures out automatically what to show you:
- If you don't have an ALMAS account yet, you'll see a sign-up form pre-filled with the invited email — finish the form (the password needs at least 6 characters; if something is refused the page tells you what) and you're in.
- If you already have an account, you'll see a short "Accept to join?" dialog. One click and you're a member of the new tenant.
Confirming your email
After you register with email + password, ALMAS sends a confirmation message. Click the link in that email to confirm your address. You can sign in and work before you confirm; nothing is blocked.
The link opens a confirmation page in ALMAS that tells you what happened:
- Your email address has been successfully confirmed. — done.
- Your email address was already confirmed. — you (or an earlier click) already confirmed it.
- This confirmation link is invalid or has expired. — the link is too old, or it was copied incompletely. Sign in and use Resend confirmation on My profile to get a new one.
Lost the email? Open My profile and click Resend confirmation next to your address (the link only shows while the address is unconfirmed). A workspace admin can also send it for you from System → Users (see Forgot password).
First login
The first thing you'll see after logging in is the dashboard for your default tenant. If you belong to more than one tenant, the most recently used one is selected. See Switching tenants for how to move between them.
Forgot password
Click Forgot password? on the login page, enter your email and click Send password reset email. ALMAS always answers "If an account exists for that address, we've sent a link to reset your password." — it never tells anyone whether an address has an account.
Open the link in the email. It takes you to Reset Your Password in ALMAS:
- Type the new password twice (at least 8 characters).
- Click Change password.
- You see Your password has been changed. You can now sign in with it. — click Go to login.
Good to know:
- The link works once and for 60 minutes. If it is used or too old you see This password reset link is invalid or has expired. — click Request a new link.
- Resetting your password signs you out on every device and browser.
- If you change your password another way before using the link, the link stops working.
- After a few quick tries ALMAS asks you to wait a minute (Too many attempts).
Admins: on System → Users, open a person and click Reset password under their email, then Send link. ALMAS emails that person a reset link; you never see or set their password. Resend confirmation in the same place emails them a new confirmation link (it is hidden once their address is confirmed).
Cookies and analytics
The first time you open ALMAS, a cookie banner asks what you allow: Accept All, Refuse All, or Customize (Analytics, Marketing and Preference cookies). Essential cookies (keeping you signed in) are always on.
Analytics (Google Analytics) only starts after you allow Analytics Cookies — with Accept All, or by ticking it in Customize. Before that, nothing is sent to Google. Your choice is remembered in this browser; to choose again, clear this site's data in the browser and the banner comes back.
Get the Android app
On the login page you'll see a Get it on — Android (APK) badge (the Google Play–style button). Tapping it from an Android phone downloads the ALMAS app installer (.apk) directly — it is not on the Play Store, so your phone may ask you to allow installing from this source. Once installed, the app logs in with the same email and password and adds push notifications so you're alerted even when the app is closed.
Already signed in? You don't need to log out — the same download is in your profile menu (top-right avatar) → Help → Get the Android app.
The app keeps itself up to date. Once installed, ALMAS quietly downloads new versions in the background and applies them the next time you open the app — you won't need to reinstall the APK for most updates. Occasionally a release needs a full reinstall (a deeper change); when that happens the app tells you and links you straight to the new installer.
