25. Roles

A role is a named bundle of permissions. ALMAS ships with sensible defaults (Admin, Manager, Member, Viewer), and you can customise or create your own.

The permissions matrix

Each role lists every resource (projects, tasks, invoices...) and every action (create, read, update, delete) as a checkbox grid. Tick the cells you want; leave the rest empty.

Assigning a role

You can assign roles two ways:

• Per user in the Users module — opens the user, picks a role.
• At invitation time — when sending an invite, the recipient gets the role you choose at that moment.

Cloning a role

If a role is almost what you want, click Clone on the role detail page, rename the copy, and tweak from there. Faster than building from scratch.
